Expansion of forensic clinics of the County Hospital in Regensburg
The objective of the competition was to expand the psychiatric-forensic area and construct a youth forensics department. The total usage of both areas is approximately 6,000 square meters. Both areas contain units and ergotherapy areas / workshops. Outdoor enclosures and a high-security fence was also planned. The concept can be divided into four components, which - with increasing elevation from north to south - integrate the topographical lay of the property and enable a good readability of the individual function areas. The structures resemble stepping stones and are a metaphor for the step-by-step reintegration process of patients. RDS Partner was subsequently commissioned with the realization of the measure.
