Police Headquarter Rheinpfalz in Ludwigshafen
The new police headquarters is to be built at a central location in the middle of Ludwigshafen. Up to now, the police headquarters has been spread over various locations in the Ludwigshafen city area. In the future, around 450 workplaces for the approximately 650 employees of the police headquarters will be housed under one roof. The new building planned by RDS Partner acts as a hinge for the change in direction of Heinrichstraße. The main building lines and heights of the surroundings are taken up. The building fits harmoniously into the triangular-shaped site. Nevertheless, due to the rounded corners, it appears as an independent solitaire in the cityscape. Due to its design and materiality, it appears self-confident and robust. The new building opens up to the city via a wide, two-story entrance. The main entrance is deliberately positioned in the alignment of Heinrichstraße in order to create an inviting gesture of openness on the part of the police.
