Juvenile Correction Facility Regis
The objective of the competition was to design a juvenile correction facility with 326 spaces for male prisoners with adjoining workshops, school-, sports- and leisure areas. In this facility prisoners serve closed- as well as special imprisonment sentences, and 50 spaces were designated for open imprisonment and youth detention. The guiding principle for the concept included the creation of campus grounds with a clear functional designation for the three living areas of residence - work - and school / leisure. The detention houses, the administrative building, the school- and leisure center and the workshops encompass a square, which is the central point of the facility. The positioning of the detention centers creates scaled courtyards, and the organization of the accommodations is staggered according to security requirements.
