Housing ensemble for the garden town Hüttenau eG, Hattingen
New building
A residential complex was created in the immediate vicinity of the old district of Hattingen with a total of 27 comfortable apartments ranging from 55 to 150 sq. m in size with an underground carpark. All levels are barrier-free and accessible with elevators. The housing with two or three apartments per floor have been planned in part as maisonettes, which open up through ceiling-high glazing to the terraces, balconies and gardens that face south. The staggered levels are offset against the main building with brick walls and cladded with light plastered surfaces. The stairwell- and southern facades consist of an aluminum mullion-transom construction with wooden installation elements as opening wings or closed wood panels. The other windows are also wood windows. The balcony plates are horizontal elements accentuated with white paint.
