Residential house Händelstraße in Hattingen
New building
The residential house has been designed with fairfaced brickwork and rough formwork concrete according to the building principle “Shell construction equals expansion”. The structures remain visible on the inside and outside and natural forms shape the interior space. A dark-grey corrugated sheet cover on the monopitch- and first roofs has also been fitted to the eave walls as a protective layer. The gables towards the open space have been glazed. The constrictions shield and close off the strip lights toward neighboring buildings and the street. The design layout allows the space to be divided into three apartment units, depending on the developmental needs of the family. The core area with stairwell, kitchen and bathroom has an open-concept connection to the living- and eating area. Children’s- and parent’s room to the left and right are shielded off as quiet zones.
