New construction of psychiatric clinics, Wickenburgstraße
The new passive-house construction for 90 residents is divided into two buildings of different sizes with generous and protected inner courtyards. The building shape integrates the topography of the countryside. The station building, therefore, has three levels toward the courtyard and the therapy building has two toward the garden. Both buildings are connected with a glazed transition and both have greened flat roofs. During the conceptual phase the main focus was on the patients’ well-being. The implemented concept has also had a positive effect on the working conditions of personnel. Using over 250 prefabricated modules for the new building resulted in a very short construction time for the new building.
