Protestant Foundation Augusta Bochum
New construction of health center
A health services center with over 7,300 sq. m usage area on six levels was newly constructed on the grounds of the Augusta Clinics in Bochum. The center accommodates established physicians, therapists and other service providers from the medical field. Besides the hospital for radiation therapy with two linear accelerators and a dialysis center with 65 available spaces, an oncological emergency unit with over 30 therapy spaces was also established. The building integrates itself into the cityscape concept with its recessed stepped-design of the floor and scaled facade arrangement. The main entry area is characterized by a three-leveled, glazed hall and a connection bridge to the hospital. The layout plan is flexible due to trabeated ceilings without joists; it can be adjusted to the individual needs of renters.
