Specialist Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry Ueckermünde
New building
The new building was constructed on the grounds of the Christophorus Hospital. The main entrance to the hospital is from the south while the clinic can be accessed from the north. The facade provides the required safety confinement. It has, therefore, not been necessary to construct an encompassing wall, and the building does not have the characteristic appearance of a prison. Safety-relevant rooms for the reception care unit and therapy departments are located next to the large inner courtyards. A typical prison wall merely encompasses the southern garden, and most patient rooms face the garden. The varied care areas allow for differentiated care and therapy. It is possible to separate patients into very small groups according to varied symptoms or e.g. according to gender or age group.
