Construction of a connecting building
A building was designed for the Professional Training Center to connect two existing school buildings and clearly define the school’s street profile. The main access to the building complex is through the new building. The entrance is on the level of the existing terrain. Stairs were therefore only necessary in the interior of the building. The escalator on the outside ensures wheelchair access to all levels of the old and new building. The school courtyard, open to the south, has been separated from public traffic space. Other functions include specific technical classrooms, an auditorium and a faculty lounge. The connections to existing buildings are minimized and recoil from the facade, which preserves the significance of existing structures.
