New administrative building
A production- and administration building has been built for a supplier of specially designed automobile parts and foils. The common central element of both buildings is a fairfaced-concrete plate. It forms the background to the administrative building positioned in front of it and provides a formal production finalization. Furthermore, it is also a visible advertisement vehicle and entrance portal. The production hall has been positioned parallel to the street as a clear geometric form. By embedding the building mass into the natural, surrounding terrain the production facility is experienced as a developing elevation, which corresponds to the human scale. The carpark has been positioned below the production hall to conserve resources. The project received the “Award for Exemplary Buildings” from the province of North-Rhine Westphalia in 2005, an award given out every five years.
