New administrative building
The new administrative building of Westphalia Plastic Engineering (WPE) with its curved form constitutes the company’s entree. The search for a clear, effective solution for urban areas has led to a three-fold division of the administrative building. Two oversized bull’s eyes and a red, vertical pipe in front of the tip of the building create associations with the company’s field of activity. A building incision in steel and glass constitutes the entry to a hall on the side of the public room as well as on the side of the production facilities. This hall includes a generous, open stairwell, which leads to the adjoining gallery-like levels. The design received an award from the Communal Association of the Ruhr region (CAR).
