New construction of the Chemical Invention Factory (CIF)
at the TU Berlin
The Technical University of Berlin is planning to construct a center for green chemistry, the Chemical Invention Factory (CIF) on the Charlottenburg campus.
This center will house urgently needed laboratories and additional infrastructure to implement the strategy of spin-offs from this outstanding research area in Berlin.
This means that the building will go beyond simply being highly technically efficient and ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable. The task of the project is furthermore to construct a building with a distinctive exterior appearance and design, both inside and out, to help develop a strong chemical start-up scene.
In addition to RDS Partner and its Swiss project partners, 14 other internationally renowned offices were selected to participate in the closed planning competition.
