New Bergisch Gladbach City Hall
RDS Partner, together with its Danish project partner Cubo, is contributing to the 40 million euro “New Bergisch Gladbach City Hall” project.
The new City Hall building offers space for around 444 administrative employees and will be built on the city’s own property on Jakobstrasse and at the corner of Johann-Wilhelm-Lindlar-Strasse as a train station head development. The approximately 12,500 sq. m planning plot in the eastern section is particularly attractive as a location for public use due to its integration into the urban fabric and its excellent accessibility.
The objective is to construct a new building that for one thing features excellent workplaces with a future-oriented quality, qualities of stay, and a high degree of functionality in integrating the different uses of the space allocation program.
With the heterogeneous and dynamic building structure, which is presented both via its facades and the atria inside, a representative City Hall building is created, which in the sense of a reception building enhances the area around the train station and functions as an entrance to the city center with its attractive architecture.
