The Public Health Group hosted a pre-congress tour of community health care facilities in Cape Town, South Africa from 30 July to 1 August 2014. Interesting projects in the field of community-based health care facilities were visited in the South African metropolis, which is also the current World Design Capital. The International Union of Architects World Congress followed in Durban with the mottos "architecture OTHERWHERE" and "healthcare OTHERWHERE." From 3–7 August 2014, some 4,200 architects, engineers and designers from around the world participated in the gathering. RDS Partner was represented by Rita and Peter M.H. Dam and Arne Thorben Damm. The closing keynote address was given by Toyo Ito.
