Märkische Schule in Bochum
During a tour of the construction site of the Märkische Schule in Bochum-Wattenscheid, all interested members of the Hattingen RDS team were able to gain a deeper insight into another ongoing regional project.
The Märkische Schule is part of the Bochum-Wattenscheid network and, as an elite school of sport and NRW sports school, promotes particularly gifted pupils.
For the NRW Sports School, a triple gymnasium including a cafeteria is being built on the site of the listed Märkisches Gymnasium on Saarlandstraße in Bochum-Wattenscheid. The investment sum for the "NRW Sports School" is 12.8 million euros. The construction costs for the triple gymnasium alone amount to almost 8.7 million euros. The triple gymnasium will include a weight room and a gymnastics room. The cafeteria will have seating for 120 and a kitchen area. The second floor will also include a sports teachers' room, a drawing room and a music room. The hall will also be available to clubs.
