Vision for important research building
with integrated warehouse in Bochum
A new building is to be constructed for the German Mining Museum in Bochum at the western edge of the city center west district. The research building with integrated warehouse will offer both areas to store objects from the mining collection as well as office space and infrastructure for scientists in the mining history research area. The property is located at the interface between a former industrial area and associated facilities on the one hand, and residential construction along Gahlenschen Straße on the other. RDS Partner’s contribution to the new building likewise integrates into the historical coal and steel industry context, acting as a link between the neighboring residential construction and the Westpark and Jahrhunderthalle area. The visualization shows how the building appears in the evening, with a design that clearly connects to the existing Mining Museum.
