New replacement construction at the Interdepartmental Institute for Biochemistry IFIB, University of Tübingen
Another milestone in the “Campus of the future” concept has been reached at the University of Tübingen with the new construction of the IFIB, which connects directly to and continues the design of the Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP), completed in 2013. A formal handover ceremony for the project was held on 04/16/2021. The roughly 5,400 square meters of usable space are divided across six floors, and offer students and researchers a state-of-the-art infrastructure with flexible laboratory zones and communication areas for exchanging ideas on an interdepartmental basis. Due to the pandemic, the event was broadcast as a live stream, and also includes short clips with interesting information on the building and insights into the architecture.
