Evangelisches Krankenhaus Castrop-Rauxel
New Surgery Center Construction
As part of the implementation of the target planning, the new surgery center with four operating rooms and the required group of side rooms was built at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Castrop-Rauxel.
With the best possible arrangement and at the same level as the various departments, e.g. the ER, intensive care unit, and functional diagnostics, this department was built during hospital operation as a two-story extension.
The surgery center can also be reached from the nursing stations via short distances from the central bank of elevators. The operating rooms are set up with their large window surfaces oriented to the east. A sterile goods corridor behind the operating rooms enables direct supply of sterile goods and natural lighting for the operating rooms. The induction room for five patients with a glass facade was positioned centrally to the rooms. This arrangement ensures optimal operations.
A wide surgery center hallway offers generous movement areas both for the transport of patients and for the employees.
The Clinical Medical Service for Surgery and Anesthesiology was established on the floor above. The waiting area was also arranged centrally on this level at the distribution base. Thanks to this arrangement, there are short functional relationships for both patients and the staff.
The compact technology center for the required ventilation technology was installed directly above the operating rooms.
