Construction of new Bethel Children’s Center
The children’s and pediatric medical team and Clinic for Pediatric Surgery treat roughly 40,000 patients per year on both an inpatient and outpatient basis – from premature infants to teenagers – at one of Germany’s largest pediatric hospitals. The state recognizes the center as offering the highest level of care.
The new construction project was focused on the following goals, all of which were included in RDS Partner’s plans:
Creating a clinic which could serve as a beacon for the region and beyond; maximum pediatric and child surgery care on a university level in line with epidemiological trends; housing appropriate for children and their parents; a family-friendly atmosphere; an interdisciplinary treatment structure; short reporting pathways adapted to the treatment process and patient needs.
The Pediatric Surgery Clinic treats all surgical illnesses in children and young people up to 18 years of age. The clinic plans to offer roughly 160 beds. 96 of these beds will be available for normal care, 44 for neonatology, and 20 for pediatric intensive care/IMC.
