during the competition at St. Antonius Hospital Kleve

The heterogeneous structure of the existing hospital, with its mix of care and treatment areas and the resulting chaotic maze of hallways and the extensive need for renovation will be gradually replaced by a new building which will be provide an efficient and patient-centered hospital for the future. Backbone of the restructuring is the main east-west atrium which will divide the new hospital into the examination and treatment wing on the north side and the nursing units on the south. By designing the construction in phases, this ensures that hospital operations can be fully maintained during construction. The existing dialysis center will be connected via the extended east atrium and thus integrated into the overall hospital complex. Further expansion will also be possible in this area. The newly built chapel is centrally located in the main entrance area.
